This week I was very abruptly and suddenly shaken with an incredibly last minute an unplanned week trip to New Jersey, unfortunately due to the passing of my husband's grandfather, Ronald Binaghi, or as we know him, Gramps. Though the circumstances were not why we would ever have wanted to come to the garden state, I am so glad we have. I have learned so much about this mysterious side of the family from across the country. I have grown to absolutely love their outrageous and vibrant souls. All of the lovely children and just fun outgoing family. It is such a loss to have to see one of them go, but such a pleasure for me personally to know I have gained such an incredible bit of family in Old Tappan.
Oh the many differences of this state from my own! Somehow I am still as comfortable as though I was home, perhaps even more. The lifestyle, the knowing almost everyone in such a small town, the life of a farmer (all of the (four now) Ronald Binaghis are farmers), the different tastes in food, the freshness of certain foods, the delightful temperament of the common stranger, and the vastly different weather. OH the weather! We knew it would be cold coming here, but coming from Los Angeles we had no idea how fresh the wonderfully cold air would feel and taste. I feel I've cured all damage I may have ever done to my lungs just by breathing here. Not to mention that TODAY it began to snow! This was truly a treat. My husband Billy had never been in falling snow and it was quite miraculous for us Californians.
Anywho, here are some photos I've taken today of the snow. There will be much more soon once I get a chance to blog again. Please enjoy these photos and don't forget to click on them to enlarge :D
First it began to rain..
